The Lowcountry Pregnancy Center is a non-profit organization offering life-affirming alternatives to abortion throughout the tri-county area. Thousands of women and their precious babies have received free services throughout the past 21 years.
Services include: free pregnancy testing, limited obstetrical ultrasounds, abortion education, post-abortion support, on-site prenatal care, free parenting classes, Earn While You Learn (EWYL) classes, and a prenatal loss program (Embracing the Journey) as well as the distribution of free baby clothes, maternity clothes, diapers, formula and baby equipment. These services are made possible by the generous support and prayers of those in our community who sincerely care about the welfare of hurting women and their precious babies. First Baptist Church is proud to be a sponsor for LPC! We support this excellent ministry through our missions budget and by collecting baby items throughout the year. There are many opportunities to volunteer and serve the LPC!
Every minute of every day, someone needs blood. That blood can only come from a volunteer donor, a person like you who makes the choice to donate. There is no substitute for your donation.
When you make a blood donation, you join a very select group. Currently only 3 out of every 100 people in America donate blood. We help the Red Cross by sponsoring four blood drives per year on Sundays.
Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses alongside homeowner partner families. Habitat is not a giveaway program. In addition to a down payment and monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor (sweat equity) into building their Habitat house. The houses are sold to partner families at no profit and financed with affordable loans. The homeowner’s monthly mortgage payments are used to build still more Habitat houses.
We support Habitat for Humanity physically and financially through the Apostle’s build program. |
We are an area collection site for Operation Christmas Child. These shoe boxes filled with toys and hygiene items are given to children all over the world.
For over 35 years, Samaritan's Purse has followed Christ's command by going to the aid of the world's poor, sick, and suffering. We are an effective means of reaching hurting people in countries around the world with food, medicine, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ. This, in turn, earns us a hearing for the Gospel, the Good News of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
We have a very active food pantry ministry. We collect donations and food items from our congregation and local community organizations. Families needing assistance apply for this assistance each Tuesday and Thursday morning. If you would like to donate to this ministry, bring your donations by the church office between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday thru Thursday.
