Personal:
Doug was born in Alabama, raised in central Florida and has lived most of
his life in the Charleston area. His wife, Dianne, is a
kindergarten teacher at St. John's Christian Academy. They have two
children: Jeff who lives in Charleston and works at Blackbaud on Daniel
Island, and Jenny, who lives in Greenville and works for Milliken, Inc.
Education/Ministry:
Doug and Dianne both attended Palm Beach Atlantic College in West Palm
Beach, Florida. They have served churches in West Palm Beach, FL.,
Columbus, GA., and Charleston, SC. Before coming on staff at FBC, they
served for 28 years at Cooper River Baptist in North Charleston.
Passion:
Doug's passion is church growth. “I see so many of our churches struggling
and many of them dying on the vine. This does not have to happen. A
church should be a lighthouse for people to find God – and we can't afford
to lose any of them. We desperately need strong, effective and vibrant
churches because we serve a strong, effective and loving God!”
Interesting Facts:
Last books read: “Leadership” by Rudy Gulliani and “American Soldier” by
